What to Include in Your CV?
What is the difference between a resume and a CV?
"The difference between a resume and curriculum vitae (CV) is that a CV displays your academic credentials and accomplishments in greater detail than does a resume. A CV is appropriate for positions in academia, research, or government. It includes information about papers, publications, presentations, and memberships that would not appear on a resume. Both CVs and resumes are often presented in reverse chronological order."
- Career Services Guide, Job Search Skills, Resumes and CVs
Other than those items stated in the above article, I like my candidates to include the followings to help me to help them:
Career Objectives: include job functions (e.g. business development, training, IT
solutions sales, etc) and industries (e.g. banking, manufacturing, retail, etc) you
would like to work in.
Industries: list all the industries you have worked in up till today, e.g. banking, manufacturing, retail, etc
Functions: list all the job roles and functions, e.g. business development, training, IT solutions sales, etc
Strengths: highlight those that meet my client's (the employer's) requirements.
Working Experiences: for each position, state your last drawn salary and define its industry, e.g. finance, manufacturing, IT, etc.
For candidates, please email CV to the Natural Headhunter.
