PQAC Early Childhood Trainers Requirements

Trainers and practicum supervisors should have specialist training, experience and qualifications in pre-school education.

Certificate in Pre-school Teaching (CPT):

Trainers

• minimum Bachelor’s degree (General) with professional qualification in pre-school education at the diploma level (DPET) and 2 years of teaching experience, or
• minimum Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related fields, with at least 2 years of teaching experience

Practicum Supervisors

• minimum diploma qualification with at least 3 years of pre-school teaching experience

Diploma in Pre-school Education and Specialist Diploma in Pre-school Education:

Trainers

• minimum Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, with at least 2 years of teaching experience, or
• minimum Master’s degree (in related field) with professional qualification in pre-school education at the diploma level and 2 years of teaching experience
• supervisory experience is required for trainers teaching the Planning, Management and Administration in Pre-school Settings module

Practicum Supervisors
Diploma in Pre-school Education – Teaching (DPET)

• minimum Bachelor’s degree (General or Pre-school related areas) with at least 3 years of pre-school teaching experience

Practicum Supervisors
Diploma in Pre-school Education – Leadership (DPEL)

• minimum Bachelor’s degree (General or Pre-school related areas) with at least 3 years of supervisory experience in a pre-school centre
